CareerWise Colorado (CareerWise)’s mission is to build and grow a world-class, modern youth apprenticeship system in the state of Colorado that enables every student to have access to a good career, and every business to develop the skilled talent needed to grow and thrive. CareerWise creates opportunities for youth and business by developing and supporting an industry-led, student-centered youth apprenticeship model. In doing so, CareerWise brings together public and private stakeholders to ensure that students have access to the skills and knowledge they need for financial and academic success, and that businesses have access to highly trained talent.

CareerWise Colorado was formed as an independent, intermediary nonprofit organization in 2016 with the support of Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and under the direction of entrepreneur and CEO Noel Ginsburg. As the owner of two manufacturing companies, who struggled to find and retain skilled talent for his own business, as well as a lifelong advocate and supporter of public education, Ginsburg co-led a 2015 delegation of business, philanthropy and educational leaders to Switzerland to learn about the gold standard of youth apprenticeship models. Since implementation began in Colorado in 2017, CareerWise has quickly become the nation’s leader in creating and implementing a scalable, unified system of youth apprenticeship that expands opportunities for high school-age youth, historically underserved by apprenticeship, while helping industry close pressing skills gaps.
