Make Fast Studio was founded by Virginia Hamilton in 2019, whose purpose is to improve government services primarily in area of workforce development, economic and community development, and education. “Make Fast” in nautical terms means a way to keep a boat safe and secure at a dock or mooring; Virginia’s facilitation practice demonstrates this sense of safety both in a classroom and online. “Make Fast” also references Design Thinking (DT), in which participants learn to prototype and test quickly for solutions that will improve customer experience.
Primary methods used by MFS include Human Centered Design (HCD), use of insights from Behavioral Science, and participatory facilitation methods. As a sole proprietor, and in various jobs throughout her career, Virginia has been providing these services to local governments, non-profits, Workforce Development Boards, and state governments for over 30 years. The business includes Virginia Hamilton, as Managing Director, and a set of consultants who help design and teach Human Centered Design, Insights from Behavioral Science, strategic planning and other methods to catalyze innovation. The business also has a consultant who is responsible for fiscal and administrative management. All financial administration adheres to general accounting principles, and any requirements set forth by client.
