Bio: Patti Castro, Director of the Alameda County Workforce Investment Board, leads a 40 member public policy board composed of a cross section of business, labor, education, and economic development organizations focused on the region’s most challenging workforce issues. A self-proclaimed “workforce architect”, Patti designs and builds strategic public/private partnerships, creates innovative programs, and works to strengthen existing workforce systems through meaningful collaboration. She has done extensive work in state and federal policy development and is consdered a peer expert in large-scale workforce transition planning. She is a California Workforce Association (CWA board member, on the East Bay Economid Development Council, and also sits on a number of industry advisory councils in the Community College system. Patti co-founded the Greater Bay Area Rapid Response Roundtable dedicated to ensuring that job loss and worker dislocations are mitigated thorugh strategic economid development, education, and business partnerships.
