Frequently Asked Questions

Unfortunately, CWA must postpone the WORKCON 2020 conference due to public health guidance, institutional and state travel restrictions. Following the announcement of the postponement of the in-person WORKCON 2020 conference, CWA is sharing important details for attendees:

Why was CWA’s 2020 Annual WORKCON conference postponed?

The California State Public Health Officer and Director of the California Department of Public Health ordered all individuals living in the State of California to stay home or at their place of residence, except as needed to maintain continuity of operation of the federal critical infrastructure sectors. On March 4, 2020, the Governor of California declared a state of emergency and recommended the cancellation of gatherings of 250 or more people across the entire state.

Will WORKCON 2020 be rescheduled?

Yes. CWA is working diligently to reschedule the conference and convert to format to virtual. The conference will be refocused to address the COVID-19 pandemic. The new dates have been scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, 2020 – Friday, June 26, 2020.

Will WORKCON 2020 be held in a virtual format? Will the conference address COVID-19’s effect on the economy and California’s Workforce?

Yes. We are exploring alternate virtual programs to bring the conference online. We will work to ensure the most seamless transition as possible.

WORKCON 2020 will have an updated focus to address the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional information will be shared over the coming weeks about potential opportunities to present, sponsor, and exhibit.

All submitted workshop proposals to WORKCON 2020 received an email from CWA (presenters@calworkforce.org) on March 13, 2020. If you are a speaker/presenter and did not receive this message, please contact Matt Hidalgo, at CWA at mhidalgo@calworkforce.org.
