Youth@Work 2019, January 22 – 24, 2019, Long Beach Hilton

The Youth@Work Conference will address formidable issues facing youth and young adults in preparing for work even in today’s robust economy. Our theme, Planet Shakers, challenges us to ensure the next generation is fully participating in the technology driven economy that is unfolding around us. Join us to find out what we could and should be doing to help create viable economic futures for youth and young adults based on this emerging future.

If you (or your supervisor) are wondering if it’s worth attending, here’s some facts that we hope will remind you of the importance of our work and the need for us to be at the top of our game.

If all the 16- to 24-year-olds who don’t work or attend school joined the workforce, their combined economic power would be worth billions. Indeed, if the 4.6 million members of Generation Z who aren’t working or in school joined the workforce, each individual would generate $11,900 per year in federal tax revenue, according to a study released by Measure of America. The U.S. economy would see more in taxes and spend less in public benefits, according to the Report.

By the time they’re in their 30s, young adults who worked or were in school during their younger years come out ahead of their non-working or non-educated counterparts, the study found. The former group earns $31,000 more per year, are 45% more likely to own a home, 42% more likely to be employed and 52% more likely to be in good or excellent health.

Join us in Long Beach and get new ideas and solutions that will help these “planet shakers” participate in shaping their future and our future.

Proposers are encouraged to submit prior to the deadline.
